Who we are
An independent Baptist church, standing on the King James Bible, serving the Lake Chelan valley.

Pastor Jaymeson Ruskamp
Pastor Ruskamp brings more than twenty years of pastoral experience to Berean Baptist Church.
His heart is to see the love of Christ shared around the world and to see this local congregation grow strong in the Word of God. He preaches expository, verse-by-verse messages from the King James Bible, and he and his family count it a joy to serve the people of Chelan.
Pastor Ruskamp would be glad to meet with you, answer your questions, or pray with you. Send him a note or stop by on Sunday.
Preach the Word. Love the people. Reach the valley.
Berean Baptist Church exists to glorify God by fostering spiritual growth and genuine fellowship through the faithful teaching of Christ's Word and compassionate service to our neighbors.
We take our name from Acts 17:11, where the believers in Berea “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily.” That is the kind of church we want to be: eager to hear, careful to test everything by Scripture, and quick to obey.
What we believe
These are the convictions that shape our preaching, our worship, and our life together.
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible is the verbally and plenarily inspired Word of God, without error, and our final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The King James Version is the official and only translation used by this church.
2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17 · PSALM 12:6-7The Triune God
We believe in one true and living God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in every divine perfection.
MATTHEW 28:19 · 1 JOHN 5:7Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and ascended to the right hand of the Father.
ISAIAH 7:14 · 1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4Salvation
We believe salvation is wholly by the grace of God, received through personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, apart from any works or merit of our own.
EPHESIANS 2:8-9 · ROMANS 10:9-13Eternal Security
We believe all who are truly born again are kept by the power of God and are secure in Christ forever.
JOHN 10:28-29 · 1 PETER 1:5Creation
We believe God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, and that man was created directly by God in His image.
GENESIS 1-2 · EXODUS 20:11The Church
We believe the local church is an autonomous body of baptized believers, with Christ as its head, observing two ordinances: believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper.
ACTS 2:41-42 · MATTHEW 28:19-20Separation
We believe every believer should live a life separated unto God and from the sinful practices of the world, walking in holiness out of love for Christ.
2 CORINTHIANS 6:14-17 · ROMANS 12:1-2Marriage and Family
We believe God ordained marriage as the union of one man and one woman for life, and that the family is the foundation of society and the church.
GENESIS 2:24 · EPHESIANS 5:22-33Dispensations
We believe God has dealt with mankind through divinely ordered ages of human responsibility, and that rightly dividing the Word of truth is essential to understanding it.
2 TIMOTHY 2:15 · EPHESIANS 3:2The Return of Christ
We believe in the imminent, pre-tribulational rapture of the church, followed by the seven-year tribulation and the literal, premillennial return of Christ to reign on the earth.
1 THESSALONIANS 4:16-17 · REVELATION 20:4-6Sign Gifts
We believe the sign gifts of the apostolic age, such as tongues and healing, were temporary and ceased with the completion of the Scriptures.
